Scaffold/Q+/PTM Minimum System Requirements:
- Windows 7, Vista, XP, or 2000 and Server 2003, Apple or Linux*
- 1 GB RAM minimum (unless you run 64-bit)
- 64-bit Operating System - Scaffold can handle many more spectra and much larger datasets if a 64-bit system is used. Scaffold 64-bit is available for download, and these 64-bit systems run best with 2+ GB RAM
- 20 GB Hard Disk space (for temp backup files)
Note: We recommend that you only install one version of Scaffold on any one computer.
Scaffold Capabilities - Files Scaffold and Scaffold Q+ Reads:
- Data formats for SEQUEST® = *.dta and *.out, *.ms2 and *.sqt, and *.srf; Mascot® = *.dat; X! Tandem® = *.xml; Phenyx = *.scaffold-pidres.xml; OMSSA = *.omx; Waters® IdentityE = *.xml (Note: These files must be created from our plugin in the new version of Waters PLGS); Proteome Discoverer = *.msf
Scaffold PTM Capabilities - Files Scaffold PTM Reads:
- Data from Scaffold or Mascot: *.mzid (the standard mzIdentML file) with accompanying *.mgf file. Scaffold exports these simultaneously, whereas Mascot requires two separate exports.
MassQC Standalone Minimum System Requirements:
MassQC Standalone version 1.7 can run on just about any modern PC, installed with Windows XP, Vista or 7. You also need Java and Flash installed. Here is the list of requirements and URLs for more information and Java:
- Administrator privileges are required to install MassQC
- MassQC Standalone is a 32-bit program, but can run on a 64-bit system
- Java, 32-bit is required, but MassQC Standalone is packaged with its own Java Virtual Machine (JVM)
- Here are Java system requirements: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/6000011000.xml
- Flash Player: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
- Hard disk space is somewhat subjective. Consider that RAW files can be large (up to 1‐2 .GB for Velos). We recommend at least a 500 GB hard drive, but more hard disk space is not a bad idea.. Keep an eye on capacity, as three‐ or four‐hundred 500 MB RAW files can fill a drive up very quickly
- For a modern computer, 2‐6 GB RAM are standard. This is sufficient for MassQC Standalone
- For server functionality, a network card capable of transferring data is required. Again, modern PCs have a 10/100 or 10/100/1000 Mbps network interface card (NIC) and this is more than sufficient for MassQC Standalone.
Note: We recommend that you only install one version of Scaffold on any one computer.
MassQC Capabilities - Files MassQC Reads:
- Data formats from Thermo LTQ series of mass spectrometers, including Velos LTQ
- MassQC supports Thermo® Data Dependent Analysis (DDA) MS/MS *.RAW files from the following instruments:
- LTQ™
- LTQ FT™
- LTQ Orbitrap™
- LTQ Velos™
- LTQ Orbitrap Velos™
* Supported: ™Fedora Project and Red Hat, Inc.
